Finding a young/adult chihuahua

I want to get a chihuahua, but I don't want a puppy. My mother has a 6yr old and I just love her. My cousin got a puppy a couple months ago and I just don't think I could give a puppy want it needs. I want to find a chi that needs a forever home but don't know where to look.

My biggest reason for wanting a chi is I'm bipolar, and having a dog with me at all times helps to control the roller coaster. My mom let's me borrow Maggie May when I go into town but my mom may be moving soon and that would leave me without my helper dog.

I've heard you can qualify for the certified helper dogs but I'm afraid I won't be able to afford it.

Any information on this would be greatly appreciated.

check your local animal shelter. there are tons of adult chis in need of a home. you can also try petfinder.com
